How to Change a Question’s Format
These are the steps to be followed if you want to change the format of a question field text type (Alpha, Alphanumeric, Currency, MM/YYYY, Numeric.)
1. Login to http://www.preadmit.com.au/Hospital/<your hospital’s unique ID>
2. Click on Settings > Questions
3. Look for the Question that you want to edit the format and click on the Actions drop down then choose Edit
4. In the Format field, click on the drop down and see options: Alpha, Alphanumeric, Currency, MM/YYYY, Numeric.
NOTE: It is safe to use ALPHANUMERIC for most questions even if they are answerable by text only because some patient’s names have hyphen (-) in them and using ALPHA as a format won’t read symbols and might cause an issue with the patient’s data. We also suggest using ALPHANUMERIC on telephone numbers but NUMERIC on postcodes and limited to 4 characters only.
5. You can also change the Field Type to Text Single-line or Multi-line, Table, Radio Buttons, Label, Checkbox List, Custom, Custom with ID and Primary Drop Downs, Date and Time.
6. Then click Save to close the Edit Field window.
